Is Creative Market worth it for digital creators?
Creative Market's Shop Terms say you receive 50% of net revenue on standard-license sales. Its help article says a person reviews each shop request and that unsuccessful applicants are waitlisted.

You want to set your price freely
You want control over refunds
You want seller protection if something goes wrong
Creative Market seller fees
Two official pages describe the split on different bases: the Shop Terms use net revenue, while a help page uses list price and says rates vary per shop and product. The Shop Terms also say refunds are at Creative Market's sole discretion and that it can debit shop accounts to fix processing errors. When a payment isn't in U.S. dollars, they say financial-institution currency conversion costs may be deducted as well.
Creative Market fees
- Creative Market keeps
Standard-license sales. Net revenue may be reduced by taxes, refunds, chargebacks and currency-conversion fees.
Enterprise sales: 30% of net revenue
Applies to sales under custom end-user license agreements.
A help page gives this default and says rates vary per shop and product.
One-time discount codes reduce your earnings
Your share is calculated on the discounted price.
Membership discounts don't reduce your share
Creative Market absorbs membership discounts from its own side of the split.
How and when Creative Market pays you
The Shop Terms say payment terms live on a help page that may change, and they tell sellers to check it regularly. Creative Market doesn't publish how many days a payout takes to arrive once it is processed.

How to start selling on Creative Market
The general Terms say shops are governed by separate Shop Terms, which hold the shop opening rules. Creative Market's sell page describes no review step, but its Open a Shop help article says every request is reviewed by a person.
Joining Creative Market, step by step
Open a Shop
Start from the sell page's Open a Shop button; no U.S. restriction is stated.
Link your portfolio
Submit a link to an online portfolio with 10 to 20 examples of your work.
Verify ownership
Show your account email on the linked portfolio page so Creative Market can confirm it's yours.
Human review
A person reviews each shop request; attachments, zip files, Dropbox and Google Drive links are not reviewed.
If not approved
Unsuccessful applicants are waitlisted and can reapply with new work; resubmitting the same portfolio doesn't help.
Upload products
Creative Market says new products need no per-product approval and go live instantly.

Creative Market shop application and approval
Creative Market doesn't publish a review time in days, a list of reasons it turns applicants down, or any waitlist figures. Approval applies to the shop. Creative Market says it doesn't re-review each new product you upload, and the Shop Owner Guidelines still apply to every product.
Creative Market shop deactivation for inactivity
Creative Market's help article says a shop with no new product in six months is subject to deactivation. It sends a single warning email with a deadline to upload, and a reminder one month before it deactivates the shop. A deactivated shop can reapply through the Shop Application. The article describes no reactivation or appeal route.
How much Creative Market sellers make
Creative Market says it has over 11 million members. That is its own audience claim, and it counts accounts, not buyers or visits. Creative Market doesn't publish typical or average shop earnings, buyer traffic or sales per product, and no one publishes a measured typical shop income.
How to earn more on Creative Market
Creative Market's Best Practices for Shop Owners say quality products drive reviews and trust. It recommends accurate tags and clear descriptions. It also advises promoting sales through social media, shop updates and the shop banner, timing sales for seasonality, and avoiding never-ending sales. It points to a downloadable Shop Owner Kit on the Sales Dashboard for seasonal timing. Creative Market describes these practices as guidance, not a promise of earnings.
Can Creative Market suspend your seller account?
Yes. Creative Market's general terms (the July 2025 version) allow it to suspend or terminate an account without notice. The Shop Terms say it can remove or suspend any asset, shop or promotion at any time without liability. The Shop Owner Guidelines tie breaches to shop closure, product removal and refunded sales.
Several product rules can trigger action:
- Visible trademarks are prohibited without a license or permission, and such products may be removed without notice.
- Third-party assets in product files cause the product to be set to draft immediately.
- Descriptions may not link to buy the same product elsewhere. Violations can mean refunds, removal or shop closure.
- User content must not be machine- or randomly-generated.
Creative Market also expects you to respond to its outreach, generally within a week or less. Failing to respond, or drawing many complaints, can lead to suspension or permanent closure. Repeat copyright complaints can lead to bans, and the terms say filing a chargeback on a purchase may result in account closure without notice.
Is Creative Market legit?
Creative Market's terms list an Austin, Texas address for the DMCA copyright agent, and they write the company as Creative Market Labs, LLC there and Inc. elsewhere on the same page. The Shop Terms also cover shops on fontspring.com. The terms carry binding arbitration and a class action waiver, which affects how disputes with Creative Market are resolved.
Creative Market company record
Taxes on Creative Market income
Creative Market publishes a tax season guide for U.S. shop owners, and the forms it describes are listed under payouts above. See taxes on side income for how self-employment income is reported.
Creative Market vs other digital product marketplaces
Creative Market requires an approved shop and says products may only be sold under its own licenses. Etsy, Gumroad and Payhip are other places to sell digital products.
Creative Market questions
Creative Market says it covers credit card processing fees and marketing expenses. The cost to you is its share of each sale, plus the deductions from net revenue described under seller fees.
Creative Market's tax guide for the 2025 tax year lists 1099 as the form for U.S. shop owners and says shop earnings are generally reported on a 1099-MISC. It publishes no dollar threshold for shop sales.
Use the support ticket form, which has categories such as Account Management and Copyright/Trademark. Creative Market's terms also list support@creativemarket.com, and copyright notices go to ip@creativemarket.com. Its buyer refund page states ticket hours of Monday to Friday, 9-5 PST.
Creative Market's refunding guide says support may refund a customer without shop owner approval if you don't respond to a technical query within 2 to 3 business days. A refund also revokes the buyer's license.
