Field Agent

Brands and retailers pay you per job for in-store photo and survey tasks in the Field Agent app; Field Agent says location jobs generally pay $3 to $20 each.

Is Field Agent worth it for in-store agents?

Field Agent pays U.S. agents per in-store photo or survey job, so what you can earn depends on which jobs show up near you.

How and when Field Agent pays you

Approved earnings sit in your Field Agent balance until you cash them out to a bank account. Field Agent says a cash-out arrives fastest when you start it on a Monday or Tuesday during Central time business hours.

What clients pay per job

  • $3-$20

    Stated pay per location job

That figure is Field Agent's own claim from its App Store listing, and it is pay per job, not per hour or month: it leaves out the time each job takes, the trip to the store and how many jobs you can get. Field Agent doesn't publish an average agent income, an hourly rate, or job counts by area. To turn a job's pay into an hourly rate, see how to calculate your real hourly rate.

Field Agent agent levels and ratings

Field Agent's Agent Score help page says your score is 42 plus your approved paid submissions over the last 6 months. Its Accuracy Score is the share of your submissions that are approved: approved paid submissions divided by total submissions, times 100. The page doesn't say a minimum score is needed to take jobs.

How to earn more on Field Agent

Field Agent's Basics for Success page is about getting submissions approved: read the job instructions before going into the store, go to the address given in the job rather than a GPS pinpoint, capture an image for every photo request and answer every question honestly. It also notes that the reservation clock starts when you reserve a job, not when you begin it.

Can Field Agent deactivate your account?

Field Agent's Participation Agreement, last updated Dec 17, 2021, says Field Agent may terminate the agreement or suspend platform access immediately, without notice, for any reason, at its sole discretion. Its help center says a suspended-account error may reflect a security hold and tells agents to submit a ticket.

Field Agent publishes no formal appeal process for denied jobs: agents who question a decision are directed to open a support ticket. For general steps after a lockout, see how to appeal a gig app deactivation.

Is Field Agent legit?

The Participation Agreement names Field Agent Inc., a Delaware corporation, as the operating company. Its main website now presents Storesight, a retail data service for consumer goods brands, while the agent app and help center still use the Field Agent name. Talk Business reported in July 2025 that founder Henry Ho said the Fayetteville home office employs about 70 people, working virtually.

Taxes on Field Agent income

Field Agent's tax page says it files a 1099-MISC only for agents who earn at least $2,000 in a calendar year, and it asks for a W-9 before you reach that mark so the form is processed before jobs pause. It also says it stores only job names and payment amounts, so keep your own record of job locations and distances traveled.

The IRS says gig income must be reported on a tax return even if no information return, such as a 1099-K or 1099-NEC, is issued. It also says self-employed people, including independent contractors, usually owe self-employment tax on net earnings of $400 or more. See taxes on side income for how the rules work.
