Is Survey Junkie worth it for survey takers?
Survey Junkie states that surveys are not a replacement for a full-time job and won't make you rich. Its App Store listing says members must be 18 or older and U.S. residents, and its sign-up page mentions no waitlist.
Survey Junkie makes sense if
You want to start without joining a waitlist
You want to see the pay before you start a survey
Choose another platform if
You want this to replace a job or pay predictably
You need surveys available every time you log in
You want protection against sudden account closure
How and when Survey Junkie pays you
Survey Junkie says points are earned per completed survey. Its How It Works page says they can be redeemed "instantly" for PayPal cash or e-gift cards. Its homepage FAQ also lists bank transfer, and neither page is dated. Survey Junkie says redemption options vary by location and verification status. The two pages disagree on the minimum to cash out: the home page states $5 (500 points), while the app listing states 1,000 points.
How Survey Junkie pays
Service completed
- How you're paid
PayPal, bank transfer, gift cards
Options vary by location and verification status; which ones depend on verification is unstated.
A second Survey Junkie page lists no bank transfer option; neither page is dated.
PayPal transfers go to the member's own PayPal account.
- Minimum payout
Survey Junkie's home page states this as the minimum cash-out.
The app listing's help text states this minimum to redeem instead.
- Tax forms
Survey Junkie says this applies to U.S. residents earning over that in a calendar year.
The IRS says $600 applies to payments through 2025, so the older figure is outdated.
Social Security number above set earnings
Survey Junkie gives no dollar threshold for collecting it and names no tax form.

Figures Survey Junkie publishes
Per month
Members cashing out each month
The 30,000+ figure is Survey Junkie's own claim about how many members cash out each month. It says nothing about how much any of them earn. Survey Junkie says availability is limited by profile matching and survey quotas, and that surveys close once the required completes are reached. It also says product testing and focus groups are more limited than surveys. Time spent on closed or disqualified surveys counts against your real hourly rate, which you can work out with how to calculate your actual hourly earnings.
Can Survey Junkie deactivate your account?
Survey Junkie's terms let it terminate or delete any account at its sole discretion and refuse service to anyone at any time. They also let it restrict access if it suspects your information is untrue or incomplete, and they allow one account per member. The terms list inflating points and speeding through surveys as prohibited fraud. Survey Junkie also says speeding or answering differently from your profile can lead to disqualification. The terms include a class action waiver.
Is Survey Junkie legit?
Survey Junkie's privacy policy says it is owned and operated by DISQO, Inc., and its terms say it is wholly owned by DISQO. The terms were last updated May 28, 2024.

Scams that use Survey Junkie's name
Survey Junkie says its Surf to Earn app never collects passwords, payment methods or Social Security numbers. That statement covers that app only. It is not a list of what staff will never ask. The FTC's general job-scam guidance, from March 2023 and not specific to Survey Junkie, says:

Taxes on Survey Junkie income
Survey Junkie's Insider's Guide blog post says it requires a W-9 from U.S. residents earning over $600 in a calendar year and then issues a 1099. The IRS says its 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC reporting threshold is $600 for payments through 2025 and $2,000 for payments made after Dec 31, 2025, so $600 is outdated for 2026 earnings. Survey Junkie's privacy policy says it may collect a Social Security number for tax reporting above a certain amount. It gives no dollar figure and names no form.
