Minimums differ by site. Sidehustles.com reports a $5 PayPal minimum at Swagbucks. Freecash says its first cash-out minimum is $5 to $20 depending on region. Finder reports that InboxDollars' Terms say $30 while its Help Center says $15 for a first request. Its own pages disagree, so check the minimum in your account before counting on a payout.

Swagbucks' help page gives no per-task rates or hourly figure, so there is no sourced typical hourly pay. The main catch is credit: Swagbucks says offer tracking can be blocked or interrupted, and then it cannot credit the reward.

How get-paid-to sites pay

These sites pay in points, coins or dollars for activities, and each sets its own rates. Swagbucks says 100 SB is typically worth $1, and lists search, shopping rebates, receipts, games, offers and surveys as ways to earn SB. Freecash's coin value is in the table below. Its cashout page lists methods as region dependent. Survey-only earnings are covered in paid online surveys.

Where the hours go

Freecash's terms say it may hold offer credits up to 90 days after you complete an offer. Balances also sit until they reach a site's minimum.

First pay combines each platform's approval time and payout delay. Bank transfers can add a few days, depending on your bank and payout method. Full terms are on each platform's page. Checked Oct 27, 2026; confirm on the official page before you sign up.

Swagbucks also has a platform page. For fixed per-task pay, see paid website and app user testing or paid research studies.

Account and tax rules in the U.S.

InboxDollars requires U.S. residence and prohibits VPN or proxy use, and may close accounts and void earnings for violations. Freecash bans VPNs, proxies, emulators and fake phone numbers and may void unredeemed rewards at its sole discretion. Swagbucks prohibits multiple accounts per person.

Swagbucks says it files a 1099 with the IRS, that members are responsible for their own tax liability, and that it requires tax info at $600 in redemptions per calendar year (not for PayPal). The IRS says gig income is taxable even without an information return, and its estimated taxes page lists prizes and awards among income that may require estimated payments. Ask a tax professional how your rewards are classified.

Risks and red flags

Free trials. The FTC says trials usually require a card and you will probably be charged if you don't cancel in time, and a trial that requires shipping or fees is not really free. Pre-checked boxes can authorize continued charges.

Offers that don't credit. VPNs or privacy settings, ad blockers, competing shopping extensions, device switching and timing can break Swagbucks' tracking. Finishing requirements before clicking the link can also cost you the credit.

Freecash. AppleInsider reported that before its app-store removal, Freecash's privacy listing disclosed collecting biometric and health data, and Finder says the app returned in May and June 2026.

Who this fits, and who should skip it

Fits you if:

  • You can follow tracking steps exactly: no VPN, ad blocker off, one device, one session.
  • You don't need same-day cash.
  • You want short sessions you can stop any time, with no startup cost.

Skip it if:

  • You need hourly or fixed per-task pay. Rating AI responses is hourly contract work, and user testing pays fixed per-test amounts.
  • You rely on a VPN or privacy tools. InboxDollars and Freecash ban VPN use, and Swagbucks lists it as a tracking breaker.
  • You won't accept free-trial offers or share personal data with game and app partners.

How to start

  1. Check eligibility: Swagbucks age rules, InboxDollars eligibility and Freecash's terms.
  2. Read Swagbucks' How do I earn SB page to see the earning categories before picking offers.
  3. Before clicking an offer, turn off any VPN and ad blocker, which Swagbucks' tracking FAQ lists among the things that break credit.
  4. Try one small offer first and confirm the reward appears in your account before starting another.
  5. Read the FTC's free-trial guidance before accepting any trial offer.
  6. Keep a record of redemptions for tax time, using the IRS gig economy tax center.
